Control of sexually transmitted infections is complicated, because of a large number of asymptomatic infections. Causes of sexually transmitted diseases belong to different groups of microorganisms: viruses, bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and multi-cell  parasitic arthropods.

Tumors

Malignant and benign genital tumors can be detected early and successfully treated. In the blood and urine of patients molecules can be found - tumor markers, which are characteristic for certain types of cancer. Tumor markers are produced by cancer or the body as a response to the presence of cancer or some benign condition. Their identification and measurement are useful for diagnosis, treatment of cancer and monitoring of therapeutic success}. Some genotypes of human papilloma virus (HPV) and herpes virus type 2 cause cancer of uterine cervix. Timely detection of this virus,
its genotyping and measuring its activities through the production of E6 and E7 mRNA (biomarkers of oncogenesis) can prove infection and the beginning of oncogenesis, what is crucial to select the ways of treatment of patients.
